Saint-Gobain Glass UK

Francis Cholley, Business Unit Director Europe & Middle East at SageGlass

Starting on October 1, Francis Cholley will take over as Business Unit Director Europe & Middle East at SageGlass. The new man at the leading provider of electrochromic glazing is no stranger to the company: he started his career at Saint-Gobain more than 25 years ago and has held various leadership positions in the company.

The 51-year-old manager has a solid knowledge of the automotive and construction product industries. His strengths include strategic customer and business segment development, areas in which he was able to achieve great success as General Manager of SEKURIT automotive glazing in Thailand and China. Over the past five years, Mr. Cholley has served in Japan as General Manager of MAG-ISOVER in the glass wool activity, and later as Country CEO for the construction products of Saint-Gobain.

With the move to SageGlass, Cholley has shifted his professional focus from Asia to Europe and the Middle East. His goal is to solidify and further expand the company’s position as the “undisputed market leader for smart glazing.” He is confident that the thermal and visual comfort provided by electrochromic glazing will make it the standard of tomorrow. Mr. Cholley can look forward to a seamless transition from his predecessor, Olivier Gareil, who introduced and developed SageGlass in the European and Middle Eastern markets. After five years in his current position, Mr. Gareil will move to a new function within the Saint-Gobain Group. His new mission is to develop further the façade solutions of Saint-Gobain. By integrating the business units operating in glass, plasterboard or technical insulation the future development of the brand will be secured.
