Disputing Edgetech’s sales figures

I would like to respond to claims made recently disputing Edgetech’s sales figures. Our figures are 100% accurate and I am happy to back them up by showing you the UK and global sales figures in confidence, so you can reassure your readers. I would also like to address other ‘plain facts’ bandied about by one of our competitors.

It is a typical salesman’s ploy to refer to a standard and imply (but not explicitly state) that it is has been achieved. Super Spacer is one of only a handful of spacer systems available in the UK that has passed EN 1279 Parts 2 and/or 3, which will soon be compulsory for all sealed units. Our competitor’s press release, published last week, claims its product has the best gas retention capability of all spacer systems, according to its own research.

But has this system passed EN1279 Part 3 with any of the official European test houses? If not, why not?

Our competitor also declared it has the largest market share in the industry, which is indeed true of its home market (the USA). Outside of the USA, however, Super Spacer outsells our rival significantly: in Canada, Continental Europe, Asia, Middle East and more importantly, here in the UK!

Edgetech has the facts and figures to back up all its claims. Windows with Super Spacer, argon gas filling and low E glass with an air leakage rate of 0.01 outperform the majority of its competitors, confirmed by testing carried out by official BFRC simulator, Build Check Ltd.

But thermal performance is only one of the factors your readers should consider when choosing a warm edge technology. For example, is the spacer “fit for purpose”, i.e. can it pass all required EN 1279 standards? Can it be manufactured on a variety of different machinery to fit all manufacturing requirements? Does it come with full marketing support? Only whe

The following matrix compares all the warm edge spacers available in the UK to answer these questions. Please note that all information on this matrix is correct to the best of Edgetech's knowledge at the time of writing. I would welcome any updates or amendments. I am also sending you the results of the Build Check report as mentioned above so that any readers who are looking to switch to warm edge technology have the latest independent research to help them take an informed decision.

I absolutely agree with Mr Wale – let’s stick to the facts!

Yours sincerely
