An ingenious fixing which allows PVC-U window and door frames to be fastened to brick and blockwork, then adjusted for a better quality installation has been launched by SFS intec.
The patented SPTR-C system uses a 120mm screw with a coloured head option to match the profile colour. Located just below the screw head is an annular ring which enables the fastener to ‘grab’ the PVC-U profile once inserted to the required depth. This ring ‘snaps’ into place and an audible ‘click’ means that the fixing is then correctly fixed to the frame and wall.
Adjustment then allows the installer to achieve an optimum frame fix as the frame can be moved closer to, or away from, the wall at each fixing position. Aesthetics are also improved through the availability of fasteners in several head colours to match the profile, including white, light grey and dark brown.
Installation is simple, requiring an 8mm bore hole through the PVC-U frame followed by an 8mm drill hole into the substrate for the plug. Fasteners are supplied complete with the plug.
The SPTR-C provides the perfect complement to the already established SFS intec range of fasteners for PVC-U windows and doors. All products are precision-made in SFS intec’s ISO 9001 registered European manufacturing plant.
