Established in 1989 glass unit manufacturer ClearTherm has invested in a For.El fully automated line to produce sealed units using Edgetech’s leading warm edge technology Super Spacer®. The Leicestershire-based manufacturer has also extended its manufacturing facilities and invested in a new toughening plant and IT system to provide online ordering for its customers. The £900,000 investment has boosted capacity from 2,000 units a week to 4,000 units a week.
ClearTherm started using Super Spacer four years ago because it allowed the company to offer its customers thermally efficient units at competitive prices. Managing Director David Laing comments: “We looked at other spacer bar systems but Edgetech offered the best solution in terms of production, product performance and technical support. Edgetech also offers us and our customers marketing support to promote WER windows.
“The new For.EL line has increased production allowing us to stay ahead of the growth in demand for superior quality Insulated Glazed Units. The new machinery has also helped achieve better consistency. Our customers know that sealed units using Super Spacer help differentiate them from the competition and ensure they achieve a higher energy rated window compared to standard aluminium bars or most other warm edge products. Our sales have increased by 50% in less than a year thanks to our existing customers selling more and new customers coming on board. Warm edge technology is the future and we are looking to increase our sales further by developing relationships with like-minded forward thinking companies.”
