London-based fabricator, DDG Group, can now offer its customers a choice of ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ energy rated windows using both the Connoisseur and Gold profiles from Kömmerling.
Following stringent testing from the British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC) the company, based on Romford Road in Manor Park, has successfully attained its new accreditation for the energy efficiency of its windows and it is one of the first Kömmerling fabricators to achieve an ‘A’ rated window on both systems.
Launched by the BFRC, the process of obtaining window energy ratings requires companies to have a satisfactory quality management system in position and for thorough testing of a number of windows to take place. This calculates the window’s total solar heat transmittance, thermal performance and air infiltration before the product’s rating is revealed.
Manager at DDG, Jeya Lachani, comments, “We are delighted to have received the whole variety of window energy ratings and in particular the ‘A’ rating. We could have easily settled for ‘B’ and ‘C’ ratings but customers always want top of the range products so of course we set our sights on the ‘A’. Instead of just serving our customers we try and educate them as to the benefits of the products they are buying and our willingness to pursue these ratings help back our claim that we supply top manufactured windows.”
Achieving the very best energy ratings is just another feather in the cap for DDG Group after an extremely successful last eighteen months of business. Formerly known as Discount Double Glazing, the firm changed to its current name in 2007 and invested in a new manufacturing facility in Dagenham, allowing it to move forward into the future but still holding onto its proud history. Then earlier this year DDG Group was awarded a “Showroom of Excellence” plaque by its PVC-u profile supplier, Kömmerling, following investment in brand new customer showroom facilities.
Kevin Warner, Sales Director at Kömmerling, adds, “It is great to hear that DDG Group has successfully attained these top energy ratings after what has been an exciting eighteen months for them. We encourage all of our fabricators throughout the UK to go through accreditation processes such as this, as it not only reflects well on them in the eyes of customers, but it ensures that Kömmerling products remain firmly established at the head of the market.”
Founded in 1984, DDG Group offers a variety of door and window designs to the trade, retail and residential markets and fabricates approximately 200 windows and doors per week.
