CWG Choices Chooses Pilkington energiKare™

CWG Choices, manufacturer and supplier of PVCU double glazed windows, doors and conservatories, has announced the use of energy efficient glazing, Pilkington energiKare™, as standard throughout all of its products.

CWG Choices was formed in 2006, and currently operates across two sites in the UK. The Northamptonshire site focuses on the fabrication of REHAU Tritec, and the 70mm S706 profiles, with the Aldridge site concentrating on the Kommerling Connoisseur and Shield 70mm profiles.

Co-founder Jason Wilder is optimistic about the partnership. He says: “Both myself and co-founder Philip De Clermont are extremely pleased to be able to offer Pilkington energiKare™ and the benefits it brings to our customers. Providing savings on fuel bills and energy lost from the home, it is a fantastic product that we are proud to use here at CWG. The fact that it achieves a BFRC Window Energy Rating band B serves as testament to the quality of the product and gives customers the optimal balance of energy efficiency and cost. We will also be promoting this partnership through our own marketing initiatives to existing partners and new business.”

Pilkington energiKare™ is different to standard double glazing as it employs a process known as solar gain, whereby the window is designed to let in the optimum amount of heat, whilst ensuring as little heat loss as possible. Utilising as much solar energy as possible allows the homeowner to minimise the cost of artificial heating.

Assuming a 10 per cent annual rate of fuel cost inflation, an average three-bed semi-detached home upgrading from single glazing to Pilkington energiKare™ would save approximately £170 per year, or around £10,000 over 20 years.

Pilkington energiKare™ helps to improve energy efficiency in the home, save money, and has been endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust’s Energy Saving Recommended scheme. Under the Energy Saving Recommended scheme only products that meet strict criteria on energy efficiency can carry the logo.

Andy McDowell, UK Business Development Manager, Pilkington, said: “The decision to partner with CWG Choices was a very easy one, as they have a great reputation for both quality and service. A large presence in their region, as well as high production and manufacturing standards, means they fit perfectly with our philosophy at Pilkington and are an ideal brand Partner.”
