As an industry we all agree 2009 will be a tough year. But as well as the challenges that will present themselves, there will also be opportunities. Manufacturing and selling energy efficient windows as one such opportunity will be the focus of the industry wide ‘Energy Efficiency in Focus’ seminar being held at the Coventry Ricoh arena on Thursday 26th February. Sponsored by Edgetech, the only dedicated manufacturer of Warm Edge Technology in the UK, the open event will include industry and energy saving experts giving their thoughts and ideas on the best way forward for the window industry in 2009. There will also be time for open discussions about the opportunities available through selling energy efficient products.
“The big retail home improvement companies are using ‘A’ energy rated windows in their TV advertising campaigns,” comments Andy Jones, Managing Director of Edgetech, “so as awareness increases it really is only a matter of time until the retail market starts demanding energy rated products. But it’s not that easy to stay ahead of market demands, legislation, the political agenda and sales techniques to achieve the best results. All of these aspects in relation to energy efficient windows will be reviewed by experts at this ‘Energy Efficiency in Focus’ event.
“Edgetech sponsored a similar industry event in 2006. While lots in the industry thought we were mad, three years down the line, many of the 200+ delegates are now making money out of using window energy ratings for commercial benefit. But the time is right to revisit this important issue. So much has changed since the last event, I think we’ve all got something to gain by revisiting it again now, to ensure we are all well equipped to tackle the challenges and maximise on the opportunities that lay ahead.”
