Edgetech customer, The Window Centre in Solihull has successfully transformed the appearance of Lindsworth special needs school following the installation of 87 windows and 5 doors in the school’s one week half term holiday.
Mike Adderley, Managing Director of The Window Centre, explains: “The building we were working on was very cold inside so we chose the most insulating products in our ‘Spectus Elite’ range for the project. These windows incorporate a state of the art sealed unit with Low E glass, argon filled and the thermally efficient Super Spacer warm edge spacer. The use of Super Spacer in the unit was particularly important not only for its energy saving properties, but also for the reduction in condensation it offers. The project was a straightforward replacement of standard PVC-U casement windows, but the original frames were sliding box sash and had not been touched for nearly 100 years. We managed to complete this sensitive work within the timescale with the excellent teamwork from ten of our seventeen fitting teams overseen by our Installations Manager, Tony Gilbert.
“The Window Centre was awarded the job at Lindsworth School having been recommended by a parent whose son attends and boards there. Our ability to complete the job within the time constraints of one week also helped to secure the contract.”
Frank Kelley, Head Teacher at Lindswoth School comments: “Everyone at Lindsworth is really pleased with the quality of the work and with the efficient manner in which it was carried out. We had to obtain several quotes for the work and as part of that process the governors and I spent quite some time deciding on who would be awarded the job. We were very impressed with The Window Centre from the outset and now know we made the right decision. To complete the job to such a high standard in such a short space of time was a fantastic achievement. The windows have completely transformed the building and all the staff and pupils have been extremely complimentary. I came into school during the half term holiday to check on progress and each time I witnessed a band of skilled workers really grafting and obviously taking a pride in their work.”
