Connaught Windows has taken the effort out of energy efficient glazing by becoming a Pilkington energiKare™ partner.
The move to offer Pilkington energiKare™ highlights Connaught Windows’ support of Window Energy ratings (WERs) and its forward-thinking attitude in the energy efficiency arena. With the changes to Part L coming into force this year, Connaught and companies like it have had to take steps to ensure they’re ready for the new regulations.
Stephen Witczak, Managing Director, Connaught Windows in Dorset said, “As well as providing Pilkington energiKare™ to our customers, we have also installed a brand new automatic sealed unit line and worked alongside CEN Solutions and Deceuninck to finalise the necessary WERs tests. At Connaught Windows we strongly believe in helping customers to reduce their fuel bills and reduce their CO2 emissions and therefore need to ensure we are offering the latest energy efficient products. By moving from single glazing to Pilkington energiKare™, customers can save up to £247 in the first year on their heating bills. It was this staggering saving that spurred Connaught Windows to become a Pilkington energiKare™ partner.”
Andy McDowell, Pilkington, said: “We are pleased to see such an established company offering Pilkington energiKare™. Thanks to changes to Part L 2010 of the Building Regulations in October this year, energy efficient glazing and new technologies like Connaught’s state-of-the-art sealed line unit have become necessary measures.”
Pilkington energiKare™ combines two leading Pilkington products, Pilkington Optiwhite™ and Pilkington K Glass™ OW, and can reduce net heat loss from windows by up to 90 per cent, when upgrading from single glazing. At the same time, Pilkington energiKare™ allows in more heat and light from the sun, contributing positively to a home’s energy requirements. The full range of window energy ratings can be achieved in most window systems with Pilkington energiKare™
