Edgetech, manufacturer of Super Spacer, the most cost effective and highest performing Warm Edge Technology, is pleased to announce that its first corporate golf day was a resounding success. Andy Jones, Managing Director explains why the company decided to invest in such an event: “The inaugural Edgetech golf day at Staverton Park in Daventry attracted over 100 guests in total, which gives an indication of the demand for events like this. Often the first thing to be cut when times get tough corporate days seem to be fewer and further between, but talking to our customers and friends in the industry, there was definitely a consensus that they are missed. In some ways people appreciated more than ever the relaxed and informal opportunities to get away from the day-to-day and network with industry peers. We wanted to say thank you to our customers and give everyone an opportunity to meet new contacts and share business ideas, over a game of golf and we’ve had fantastic feedback on the day and since, about the organisation of the day and how useful everyone found it for precisely those reasons.
“The day included an element of friendly competition too with prizes awarded to Mark Westbrook of FrameXpress for longest drive, Robert Huszar of Lakeside Group for straightest drive and Jonathan Hall from EAS Windows for nearest the pin. First, second and third prize for best individual performance went to Mike Parczuk of Starglaze, Oakland Glass’ Richard Oaks and Geoff Hancock of Dual Seal Glass respectively. The winning team on the day happened to be my team which included Joe Hague of Promac, Steve Sturch of CET Glass and Jeremy Kemp of Padiham Glass.
“Following the day of golf was an evening dinner with presentations for a number of golfing competitions held throughout the day and a charity raffle that raised £1065 for Cancer Research and Help for Heroes.”
