CWG Choices have just launched their traditional Legacy window, which incorporates Kömmerling’s O70 Gold sculptured outer frame, C70 Gold slim sash and a number of other key features. The result is a beautiful, long lasting, timber effect window which is low maintenance and doesn’t require painting.
As part of the high specification on the Legacy window, all transoms and mullions are mechanically jointed with arris detail, giving the appearance of timber joints. The windows are also supplied with opening and dummy sashes only, to provide equal sightlines. The sash/mullion/sash sight line of 154mm also closely replicates timber proportions and combined, the window can be used to replace traditional timber windows or to give period detailing to a property.
The product also features a number of colour options to help reproduce a painted timber finish including White Ash, Irish Oak, Cream, Black, Golden Oak and Rosewood. As part of the inherent design, there is also a deep sculptured astragal bar to the interior and a putty line astragal bar to the exterior of the window, along with black gaskets on all sections. Handles are a black satin finish for a traditional feel and there’s the option of a monkey tail handle on side hung sashes.
In a market where post PVCu windows look similar on the outside, the Legacy window offers installers something genuinely unique for the style conscious homeowner. It could also induce the traditional timber biased consumers into a change to PVCu. The Legacy window is also complemented with the Legacy door as part of a complete collection of traditionally inspired and timber effect home improvement products.
The fact that all of Kömmerling’s PVCu window and door systems are extruded with their lead-free Greenline compound is another major plus, in a market where the vast majority of systems companies still used lead-based stabilisers in their extrusions. There are 5 chambers on the inside of Kömmerling’s O70 and C70 Gold systems, helping achieve an ‘A’ rating as standard on this window with relative ease, along with the use of warm edge spacer bar on the glass units.
Jason Wilder, co-director of CWG Choices comments: “We have developed something quite special with the Legacy range and we now believe that CWG Choices has arguably, the widest product range in the UK as a fabricator. Our customers enjoy the wide range of products we offer and it means they can rarely walk away from any sales enquiry.”
