In line with its global expansion plans for Kömmerling and KBE, which include a focus on high growth countries, parent company profine GmbH will enter the Indian market in 2012. A new extrusion plant will be opened later this year through a new subsidiary, profine India Window Technology Private Limited.
Profine, the international market leader for uPVC profiles for windows and doors, has been active for more than 5 years in the Indian market under the brand name Kömmerling and is considered the market leader for imported window and door systems.
Albrecht P. Lange, CSO, profine GmfH comments: “We treat India as a growth market which we develop continuously together with our customers. Following the establishment of our own subsidiary in 2010, local extrusion is the next step in this journey.”
The detailed planning for the plant set-up is already in progress. Customised systems for this particular market, such as an outward opening and a special sliding system, will be extruded in India specifically for the local market. Similar systems are already being supplied in the Indian market by profine under the Kömmerling brand name.
Robert Thiroff, managing director of Profine UK concludes: “This is further evidence of our capabilities and commitment to key markets. In addition to our Indian investment, we’ll continue to invest in products and new marketing materials in the UK. While other Systems Companies look to cut back we’re actually investing more than ever.”
